Self-Awareness: Working Safely as a Therapist

Two Day CPD Retreat Course for Therapists, Counsellors and Coaches

22-23 March 2021: Scarborough, North Yorkshire (NB. Will be moved online if necessary)

Self-supervision is a vital aspect of practising safely as a therapist, counsellor or coach.  Taking time to reflect on our client work, and developing our own self-awareness helps us to practice safely in between our own formal supervision sessions.

Our two day CPD retreat course has been designed for student and qualified therapists, coaches and counsellors of any modality, to help you develop your own self-awareness and learn some insightful tools for self-supervision which can transform your work with your clients as well as your relationship with yourself.

During the two days, you will:
  • Discover the importance of developing a sense of self-awareness as a therapist.
  • Explore the importance of transference and countertransference.
  • Become aware, through experiential learning, how your own beliefs, values and attitudes impact on the client-therapist relationship.
  • Learn a number of psychotherapeutic models, tools and techniques for developing your own self-awareness and reflexivity.

Following on from the course, there will also be a three hour online catch-up via Group Zoom, which will be arranged at a time to suit the delegates.

Join us for this small group retreat - with a maximum of just five delegates (four online) you are assured of personal attention to address your own questions and your personal and professional outcomes.

The course fee is £410.00*, to include comprehensive course manual, lunch and light refreshments each day for the face-to-face course, and represents 14 hours of verifiable CPD.
*£390.00 for members of the National Hypnotherapy Society and National Counselling Society.

This course has been given Quality Checked CPD training recognition by the National Hypnotherapy Society (HS) and the National Counselling Society (NCS). This course alone is not a route to the Accredited Register nor does it fully equip a participant to practice as a qualified practitioner or refer to themselves  as ‘a specialist’ in the subject matter unless they have other qualifications to support this.
