Our Modular Diploma programme in Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy is offered for Master Practitioners of NLP who wish to advance their knowledge and wisdom in the application of NLP in the field of Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy (NLPt).
What is NLPt?
NLPt is an holistic, outcome-focused model, based on constructivist principles and holding at its heart the basic presuppositions of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, as developed by John Grinder and Richard Bandler in the 1970s. It has a diverse history and an eclectic combination of therapeutic aspects which gives the NLPt therapist choice and behavioural flexibility when working with clients. For example, aspects of Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Rogerian Therapy and Jungian Psychotherapy can all be accredited.
The relationship between client and therapist is considered to be of paramount importance; the therapist holding an attitude of non-judgemental acceptance of the client, and an unconditional positive regard. Because NLPt uses relational principles, it is also important that the therapist has a well-developed sense of self-awareness such that a reflexive approach can be adopted with regard to issues such as client transference and countertransference.
It maintains the premise that positive change at an unconscious level can enable the client to have greater behavioural choice.
