An Introduction to Solution-Oriented Therapy

One Day Small Group Online CPD Workshop for Qualified and Student Hypnotherapists, Counsellors and Coaches

Therapy has for most of its history focused on studying and trying to eliminate people’s problems and pathology. Solution Oriented therapy is about shifting the focus from pathology and deficits to strengths, capabilities and resources. Instead of searching for the explanation for a person’s difficulties, for the real problem, the focus is to look for solutions that will work for the particular individual. It is a way of thinking that doesn’t begin by attacking the problem but by seeking solutions, however big or distant that may seem to be, then figuring out how to get there. It is a way of thinking that raises up images of what might be or should be, and thereby helps people see potential that otherwise might not be understood; evoking action that otherwise might not occur.

Introducing the work of William O'Hanlon, whose therapeutic model is based on the work of Milton Erickson, our day will cover:
  • An introduction to the therapeutic work of William O'Hanlon, through exploration of the modality of Solution-Oriented Therapy; its roots, and clinical applications.
  • Discovery, through discussion and experiential learning, how aspects of this modality can be useful when working with your own clients.
  • Exploring how this modality connects with, and enhances, your existing therapeutic skillset and other therapeutic approaches.

The course is open to all student and qualified therapists, counsellors and coaches of any modality.  Depending on your choice of date it will be conducted either over Group Zoom, with a maximum of four delegates, or at our School in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, with a maximum of five delegates.

The course fee is £205.00*, to include a comprehensive course manual, and represents 7 hours of verifiable CPD.  For our face-to-face trainings, your lunch is also included, together with light refreshments during the day.
*£195.00 for Newsletter Subscribers.

This course has been given Quality Checked CPD training recognition by the National Hypnotherapy Society (HS) and the National Counselling Society (NCS). This course alone is not a route to the Accredited Register nor does it fully equip a participant to practice as a qualified practitioner or refer to themselves  as ‘a specialist’ in the subject matter unless they have other qualifications to support this.
