An Introduction to Solution-Oriented Therapy
One Day Online CPD Workshop for Qualified and Student Hypnotherapists, Counsellors and Coaches
Wednesday 27 January 2021 - ONE PLACE AVAILABLE Wednesday 2 June 2021 Tuesday 7 December 2021 |
Therapy has for most of its history focused on studying and trying to eliminate people’s problems and pathology. Solution Oriented therapy is about shifting the focus from pathology and deficits to strengths, capabilities and resources. Instead of searching for the explanation for a person’s difficulties, for the real problem, the focus is to look for solutions that will work for the particular individual. It is a way of thinking that doesn’t begin by attacking the problem but by seeking solutions, however big or distant that may seem to be, then figuring out how to get there. It is a way of thinking that raises up images of what might be or should be, and thereby helps people see potential that otherwise might not be understood; evoking action that otherwise might not occur.
